Abstract
Technological advances are driving the digitalization of various sectors, including
hiking equipment rentals. This research aims to design a web-based application that
can manage the hiking equipment rental process more efficiently and implement the
Naïve Bayes Classifier Algorithm to analyze the level of borrowing of goods. The
developed application is able to provide real-time information regarding equipment
availability, borrowing history, and calculating fines for users who return items after
the deadline. With user-friendly features and a structured system, this application can
improve the efficiency of borrowing management and provide a better experience for
users. The implementation results indicate that the Naïve Bayes Classifier Algorithm
is effective in classifying equipment based on its level of popularity, assisting
managers in making decisions regarding the procurement and promotion of less
popular equipment. Thus, this research contributes to the optimization of the hiking
equipment rental system at the Sunrise Shop. Testing the application program using
the white box method obtained V(G) = 34, IP = 34, and R = 34 which are the same,
namely 34, so the application program is free from programming errors.
