Abstract

Integration between transportation nodes is an important factor in creating an efficient and inclusive
mobility system. In Klaten Regency, the absence of a direct connecting route between Klaten Station
and the Ir. Soekarno Type A Terminal has resulted in low accessibility and user comfort, especially for
vulnerable groups and users with luggage. This study aims to design an integration facility in the form
of a skybridge to improve connectivity between the two nodes. The methods used include walkability
surveys, user interviews, pedestrian volume transmission, and comparative analysis of distance and
travel time. The results show that the quality of the existing route is not suitable for use, with a
Walkability Index value of 31.05 (low category). In addition, the negative mode interaction value
reached -188 (bad category), which increased to -60 (good category) after the improvement scenario
was designed. A skybridge with a length of 50.4 meters and a width of 2.5–3 meters is recommended as
a direct connecting route, which can reduce the distance from 1,400 meters to 50 meters and travel time
from ±4 minutes to ±2 minutes. This planning is expected to not only increase the efficiency of passenger
circulation, but also create a safe, comfortable transportation environment and support sustainable
mobility patterns in the Klaten area
